Buying just before the open has beaten buying in after-hours in both years we checked.
Get back to breakeven next session
About half of alerts that close red on the entry day are back to breakeven the next session. The rest can fall a long way.
The early dip on after-hours runners
Strong names that ran after the close often dip in the first minutes of pre-market before they go again.
Two categories beat none
Alerts that fall into two or more of our six categories reached +20% far more often than alerts in none.
Five sessions is the right window
Most of the move comes in the first five sessions. Waiting longer mostly adds drawdown.
Good news does not pick winners
A headline score written blind did no better than a coin flip on data it had never seen.
Our basing buy alert lost to random
The dip-buy trigger on the basing board hit +10% less often than random entries on the same names.
Buying the capitulation flush
Waiting for a violent flush and buying the recovery did worse than a plain 10:30 entry.
